Zemon took his time, plenty of time, to slide his next EP in the Subotage Records folder. „PLAY AS YOU GO“ is the first song of the “Ulterior Motive EP” and delights you with lissomeness and that certain 2Step character. You would shout “I want more!!” and this is exactly what you get from the second track „LOOSE LOGIC“. This bassmusic style can only be produced by Zemon. Structured, organized and sophisticated, from the musical aspect is it one of the most exciting songs on this EP. The ear-worm drills trough your brain and closes the door from within – forget logic! „HIATUS“, the number three, crackles, bubbles and sizzles along the song arrangement and apparently random picked up samples get arranged to a clustered rhythm. The fourth song „Questions“ rumbles, after an introducing part, in a British Bass, 2Step manner and gives you this good old “BadAss” feeling back. „Stupidbang“ is as simple as possible, just hits the nail on the head – BANG! Zemon constructs a supremely expressive rhythm by minimal means. Belling reesebasses and a fathomless deep snare drum in a short, small room meet the demand of the dancefloor. The only track with huge hall reverberation and complex delay chains is „Full_English“, the fifth song of the Ep and can be seen as a merger of Dub and Bass. It builds its stage almost in 3D and epitomizes a full-blown peaktime party track. Plain and simple but very exciting. Zemon contrives to escort the audience on the trip through the world of the crazy Bassmusic rhythms.
